Le cadavre automatique
editorial design, Zhdk, 2006 with Bill Schulz, tutors: Kurt Eckert, Alexandra Stäheli

This editorial design school project deals with the consumption of media. Bill and I looked at the phenomena of zapping. We recorded 60 minutes of TV programming during prime time while zapping in intervals of one minute. Every minute matches one spread in the book. On TV different content collides successive through zapping. In our book it collides on the plane through the cut in the middle and generates new contexts.

The book starts with texts about zapping. All parts not relevant for our book were ‘zapped out’. The middle section is the zapping part with 3600 different combinations. The end is the rest of the transcription of the TV programme.
